Notification on the renaming of the Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Center

Considering the Government Ordinance no. 17 of 29 August 2018, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 755 of 31 August 2018, we notify you that the Civil Aviation Safety Investigation and Analysis Authority (CIAS) has been renamed as the CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS AUTHORITY (SIAA).

LEGAL FRAMEWORK:

DEADLINES TO COMMUNICATE PUBLIC INTEREST INFORMATION:

Written communication:

According to Law no. 544/2001 referring to free access to public interest information, with subsequent amendments and additions, the deadlines for communicating in written an answer to the persons requiring public interest information are the following:

a) 10 days to communicate the required public interest information, if this was identified in this deadline;

b) 10 days to announce the applicant that the period referred to in letter a) was not enough to identify the required information;

c) 30 days to communicate the identified public interest information over the period referred to in letter a);

d) 5 days to transmit the refusal of communicating the requested information and to motivate the refusal.

Oral communication:

According to Law no. 544/2001 referring to free access to public interest information, with subsequent amendments and additions, the deadlines for verbal communication of public interest information are the following:

a) the employees of the departments responsible of information and public relations shall specify the conditions and forms in which the access of public interest information is possible and may provide the requested information immediately;

b) if the requested information is not available on the spot, the applicant is advised to request in writing the information of public interest, and the application form will be solved within the deadlines specified above, at "Written communication" section;

c) information of public interest requested orally by mass-media representatives shall be communicated immediately or within 24 hours.

 

The above mentioned deadlines are calculated from the date when the claim was registered, according to art. 20, paragraph (4) of Law no. 544/2001 referring to free access to public interes information, with subsequent amendments and additions.

In the calculation of deadlines, the day in which the deadline begins is not counted, neither the day it ends.

When a last day of a deadline is a non-working day, the deadline extends until the first following working day.
